Salute to Steely Dan: Countdown to Ecstasy featuring Chuck Rainey
Bass BootCamp invites Countdown to Ecstasy to present a special Steely Dan salute on March 18. Gerald Veasley’s world class bass faculty joins forces with this dynamic band for a one-of-a-kind musical event. Steely Dan alum and studio legend, Chuck Rainey, will be a special guest!
Countdown to Ecstasy is an eleven piece ensemble that’s more than a tribute band: this group of talented and eclectic musicians came together to bring the respect for the music of Steely Dan and their love of performing to the stage.
This All-Star Concert will also feature bass luminaries Bryan Beller, Adam Nitti, Gerald Veasley and more.

Gerald Veasley’s Electric Mingus Project
Gerald Veasley re-imagines the music of the legendary bassist and composer Charles Mingus, who has inspired more controversy than perhaps any other in jazz. Mingus’ unique approach is ever present in his compositions and has made him a fascination to the generations of jazz musicians that followed.
One such musician is renowned bassist Gerald Veasley. A world-class player and composer himself, Veasley leads the five piece Electric Mingus Project. The adventurous group revisits Mingus’ compositions using both modern electronic and standard instrumentation: John Swana – EVI, Chris Farr – EWI, saxophones, Tony Miceli – vibes, Harry “Butch” Reed – drums
